ATLANTA – One year after becoming the first airport ever to serve 100 million passengers in a single year, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) officials announced today that passenger numbers for the first half of 2016 exceeded passenger numbers for the same period in 2015. In addition, ATL, which hosted more aircraft operations than any other airport in the world in 2015, is currently exceeding operations numbers over the same period last year.
“We work every day to ensure our passengers are provided a safe, enjoyable and efficient travel experience,” interim Airport General Manager Roosevelt Council Jr. said today. “Maintaining our status as the world’s most traveled and efficient airport is a testament to relationships we have with our tenant airlines, our concessionaire partners and all involved in the day-to-day operations at ATL.”
As of June 30, 2016, ATL hosted 51,293,666 passengers year-to-date. That number represented a 4.48 percent increase over the same period in 2015. ATL recorded 447,677 aircraft operations from Jan. 1, 2016, to June 30, 2016, a 3.46 percent increase over the same time frame in 2015.

Fairbanks International Airport Baggage Transport Conveyor Enhanced With Mod Drive™ System
Airports face a host of unique industry challenges, such as meeting efficiency regulations and seeking out the best maintenance practices to reduce costs and keep operations flowing. In today’s current economic climate, any potential cost savings can go a long way.
In 2019, Alaska’s Fairbanks International Airport (FAI) sought to modernize its equipment and operations. They were dissatisfied with the performance of the gearmotors on their baggage transport conveyors and began searching for new suppliers. Regal approached FAI with a solution that could improve equipment performance and simplify maintenance, with the added benefit of energy cost savings: the Hub City® MOD Drive™ system.
