50 nonstop destinations now offered from Mitchell Airport
MILWAUKEE (March 8, 2018) – Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele and representatives from Southwest Airlines launched new nonstop service from General Mitchell International Airport (MKE) to William P. Hobby Airport in Houston this morning. The celebration featured a space exploration theme in the gate area, in recognition of the major role Houston has played in space exploration history.
“These nonstop flights into convenient Hobby Airport will be a big hit with travelers from Wisconsin and Illinois looking to visit Space Center Houston and the NASA Johnson Space Center,” County Executive Abele said. “We now have nonstops from MKE to 50 destinations in North America. With low fares to great destinations like Houston, even more passengers are discovering just how easy and convenient it is to use our hometown airport. 2018 is going to be a big year at MKE.”
The new flights are operated on full-size Boeing 737 jets, and Southwest passengers enjoy up to two free checked bags and no change fees. Southwest Airlines is the largest carrier at MKE.
MKE offers nonstop flights to 50 destinations coast-to-coast – many on full-size mainline aircraft – and 160 international destinations are available from Milwaukee with just one connection. MKE is served by Air Canada, Alaska, Allegiant, American, Delta, Frontier, OneJet, Southwest, Swift Air (Apple Vacations and Funjet Vacations), United, and Volaris. The complete list of nonstop cities can be found at www.mitchellairport.com.

Fairbanks International Airport Baggage Transport Conveyor Enhanced With Mod Drive™ System
Airports face a host of unique industry challenges, such as meeting efficiency regulations and seeking out the best maintenance practices to reduce costs and keep operations flowing. In today’s current economic climate, any potential cost savings can go a long way.
In 2019, Alaska’s Fairbanks International Airport (FAI) sought to modernize its equipment and operations. They were dissatisfied with the performance of the gearmotors on their baggage transport conveyors and began searching for new suppliers. Regal approached FAI with a solution that could improve equipment performance and simplify maintenance, with the added benefit of energy cost savings: the Hub City® MOD Drive™ system.
