CASPER, WY – Casper / Natrona County International Airport - In light of a recent decision by Allegiant indicating their plans to discontinue service at the Casper/Natrona County International Airport (CPR) with their last scheduled operation January 1, 2018, the Airport has issued the following press release:
Since their commencement of service from the Casper/Natrona County International Airport on September 19, 2008, Allegiant has partnered with Casper to provide travel service to fliers around Wyoming. Unquestionably, the Airport has appreciated and valued this partnership for the nine years it has been in place.
Although the Airport is certainly disappointed by Allegiant’s decision to discontinue service from Casper, it has been noted and commented by aviation observers that Allegiant is changing its corporate strategy by placing a greater emphasis on larger markets. Allegiant’s decision appears to be another step in that direction. As an example, Allegiant has recently entered into business relationships with larger markets like Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, Cleveland, Cincinnati and Denver. This change in strategy is ongoing and is expected to have an impact on small airports across the country.
"We recognize that Allegiant is changing its strategy, which requires Allegiant to tap into larger population centers,” stated Glenn Januska, Airport Director. “We wish them well.”
Fairbanks International Airport Baggage Transport Conveyor Enhanced With Mod Drive™ System
Airports face a host of unique industry challenges, such as meeting efficiency regulations and seeking out the best maintenance practices to reduce costs and keep operations flowing. In today’s current economic climate, any potential cost savings can go a long way.
In 2019, Alaska’s Fairbanks International Airport (FAI) sought to modernize its equipment and operations. They were dissatisfied with the performance of the gearmotors on their baggage transport conveyors and began searching for new suppliers. Regal approached FAI with a solution that could improve equipment performance and simplify maintenance, with the added benefit of energy cost savings: the Hub City® MOD Drive™ system.
