Annapolis Junction, MD, May 31, 2017: The Aviation Information Sharing and Analysis Center (A-ISAC) has announced a new, tiered membership structure designed to increase accessibility to the organization’s premier global cyber threat sharing network. The A-ISAC is partnering with the International Air Transport Association (IATA) to promote the new membership categories aligned to service offerings. IATA will bring awareness of the new A-ISAC structure to its worldwide membership base.
“Airlines, airports, service providers and supply chains across the broad and complex aviation ecosystem are highly vulnerable to cyber risks and threats. The expansion into a tiered membership program enables all aviation service providers to engage in the premier global cyber security threat sharing network, regardless of size or revenue,” said A-ISAC Executive Director Jeff Troy.
“Our current members are reducing cyber risk through the threat intelligence sharing occurring in the A-ISAC.” Troy continued, “We experienced rapid growth of more than 30% in 2016, with members on five continents. IATA’s support is invaluable and will encourage even broader participation in the trusted environment that is the Aviation ISAC.”
IATA Chief Information Officer Pascal Buchner commented, “The partnership between the A-ISAC and IATA is a natural fit. Our two organizations share the vision of a safe, secure, and resilient air transport industry. This partnership broadens the ability of aviation companies around the world to engage in the unparalleled threat sharing and analysis capabilities of the A-ISAC” he continued.
Previously, the A-ISAC offered one membership category at a single dues rate. The new structure offers Platinum, Gold and Silver membership levels. Each category retains the A-ISAC’s highly rated offerings such as real-time threat sharing and the Daily Aviation Memo but in a scaled approach, with dues adjusted accordingly.
Membership in the A-ISAC is global and open to any company doing business in the aviation sector. This includes airlines and airports, equipment manufacturers, service providers, fixed base operators, IFE, Wi-Fi, satellite communications companies, and more.
