LOUISVILLE, KY (March 8, 2018) – Southwest Airlines today announced new daily nonstop service between Louisville International Airport (SDF) and Houston’s William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) beginning October 3, 2018. The airline will operate the flight using 143-seat Boeing 737 aircraft.
“We are thrilled that Southwest is growing here in Louisville,” said Dan Mann, Executive Director of the Louisville Regional Airport Authority. “This mid-day departure is perfectly timed for travelers bound for Texas, the South Central U.S. and cities in the west.”
With this announcement, Southwest Airlines will offer 14 daily nonstop flights to eight destinations from Louisville including Baltimore, Chicago-Midway, Denver, Las Vegas, Orlando, Phoenix and Tampa. Tickets are now available at www.southwest.com.
“I am so excited that Houston-Hobby marks our second new, nonstop flight added from Louisville this week and the eleventh new route announced in the last 14 months,” said Mann. “Passenger air service remains our focus, and these announcements would not be possible without the community’s strong support. I’d like to especially thank the dedicated efforts of the Louisville Regional Airlift Development, Inc. for their commitment as we continue to increase flight options from Louisville International.”
Louisville International Airport is served by seven airlines offering flights to 30 nonstop destinations including 18 of the region’s top 20 domestic markets. With just one stop travelers from across the region can reach 170 international destinations in 81 countries on six continents.
