Today American Airlines announced their plan to suspend service at AZO from October 7th through November 3rd. In a press release American stated the reason as “low demand and the expiration of the air service requirements associated with the CARES Act.”
In a phone call American assured the airport that the move is temporary as they continue to evaluate markets on a monthly basis. “the impact of COVID-19 on air service to small communities continues. AZO is very much a business focused market. It will take the confident return to normal operations by the area’s business community to fully recover. The move by American is disappointing, but we are confident of their commitment to AZO and their return in November,” said Craig Williams, Airport Director.
In July 2020, American carried 2,213 passengers on aircraft that were 58% filled. Passenger numbers were down 63.4% from 2019 numbers.
PAVIX: Proven Winner for All Airport Concrete Infrastructure
International Chem-Crete Corporation (ICC) manufactures and sells PAVIX, a unique line of crystalline waterproofing products that penetrate into the surface of cured concrete to fill and seal pores and capillary voids, creating a long lasting protective zone within the concrete substrate.
Once concrete is treated, water is prevented from penetrating through this protective zone and causing associated damage, such as freeze-thaw cracking, reinforcing steel corrosion, chloride ion penetration, and ASR related cracking.
This white paper discusses how the PAVIX CCC100 technology works and its applications.
