Birmingham, Al – The Birmingham Airport Authority has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of the United States and Canada.
This award is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represent a significant accomplishment by a government and its management, according to the Government Finance Officers Association news release.
This award of Financial Reporting Achievement has been awarded to the individuals or department designated by the government as primarily responsible for preparing the award-winning Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR).
“We are proud to be recognized by the GFOA with this amazing award,” said Interim CEO Sylvester Lavender, “The Birmingham Airport Authority’s CAFR is a tool we created, for our community and stakeholders, in order to communicate our financial story.”
