October 21, 2021 – After a nationwide search, the Chicago Executive Airport (CEA) Board of Directors selected airport veteran Jeffrey Miller as its new Executive Director. Miller has more than a decade of experience in airport management, recently serving as the Airport Director at Laredo International Airport in Laredo, Texas.
“Jeffrey brings with him proven success at various levels of airport management and is highly respected in our industry,” said CEA Chairman D. Court Harris. “We know his leadership and experience will be an asset to the airport as we continue to provide the highest level of service to our customers and the communities we serve.”
When Miller assumes his role on November 1, he will manage the day-to-day operations for CEA, which is jointly owned by the Village of Wheeling and City of Prospect Heights. The airport supports 2,134 jobs and generates $441 million in economic activity for the region.
“I am so happy to be joining the Chicago Executive Airport team, which is poised for tremendous growth,” said Miller. “I look forward to joining at this very exciting time and I want to thank Chairman Harris and the Board of Directors for giving me the opportunity to lead the Chicago Executive Airport.”
Miller has a strong history in airport management with a professional background focused on business, fiscal and administrative operations. Most recently, he provided valuable leadership in strategic planning and economic development at Laredo International Airport, the largest inland port in the United States.
Miller is a graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with both a Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management and a Master’s Degree in Aviation Finance. He is an Airport Certified Employee and an Accredited Airport Executive with the American Association of Airport Executives and was recognized as on Airport’s Business 40 under 40 in 2020.
