Dillon Chado Promoted to Director of Facilities

New position enhances leadership team, maintenance focus of best-in-class facilities at Louisville airport

Louisville, KY (June 30, 2023) – Dan Mann, Executive Director of the Louisville Regional Airport Authority, recently named Dillon Chado, C.M., ACE as the new Director of Facilities.

“It’s great to welcome Dillon to the Airport Authority’s leadership team,” added Mann. “His passion for aviation coupled with his knowledge of our airports will serve him well in this new role. This is especially crucial as work continues through our SDF Next Program and other initiatives to provide best-in-class facilities for area travelers and our business partners.”

In this role, Chado is now responsible for oversight and management of day-to-day, non-recurring maintenance and various long-rang programs related to maintenance, repair and operational capabilities of Airport Authority facilities including the Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport (SDF). This includes all building aspects such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, building systems and controls and equipment.

Chado most recently served as the Airport Operations Manager – Irregular Operations and Regulatory Compliance for the Airport Authority, where he ensured both SDF and Bowman Field met federal, state and local laws as well as aviation regulations and guidelines. He also managed the Wildlife Hazard Management Program and had oversight of the Airport Emergency Plan. Previously, he served as Operations Supervisor for the Airport Authority and as an Operations Specialist I and II at the Columbia Metropolitan Airport (CAE) in Columbia, SC.

Chado is an Airport Certified Employee (ACE) and Certified Member (C.M.) through the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE). He is currently working towards earning his Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.) status through AAAE as well. In addition, he holds a private pilot’s license. Chado is a graduate of California Baptist University, located outside Los Angeles, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Management.
