ORLANDO, FL. – February passenger traffic at Orlando International Airport (MCO) continued to excel over previous records as the Spring Break travel season got an early start. Nearly 4 million travelers moved through MCO in February, up over 7 percent from 2018.
“We maintain our optimism that our strong February numbers are an indicator of what to expect for the rest of the year,” says Phil Brown, Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority. “Every indicator that I have seen predicts that we will continue to climb and surpass 50 million passengers by the fall.”
February numbers were also influenced by attendance at the Daytona 500, The Orlando Home and Garden Show and by new or expanded air service to Montego Bay, Austin, Moncton, Halifax, Burlington, Marsh Harbour, Portland and Eleuthera.
Spirit Airlines registered the largest increase in passengers at MCO, up 112,000 over February 2018.
