New restaurants slated to greet Terminal B travelers
NEWARK, N.J. (May 7, 2019) – Global restaurateur HMSHost is set to expand restaurant options for travelers at Newark Liberty International Airport. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey recently aarded a new 10-year contract, with a projected sales volume of $91 million, to HMSHost and its partner Imagine Airport Ventures, LLC (IAV). As part of this contract, HMSHost will operate three new food and beverage spaces in Terminal B as a tenant of Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield.
“HMSHost and our partner Solomon Crayton of IAV are thrilled to offer travelers of the New York-New Jersey metropolitan area these great new dining options,” said HMSHost Vice President of Business Development Anthony Alessi. “We thank the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield for this great opportunity to be a part of enhancing the traveler experience at the nation’s oldest airfield.”
By 2020, HMSHost will open Jersey by the Shore Food Hall, an original food hall concept, which will feature Malone’s Fish Market, Little’s Tony’s Pizzeria, and Firehouse Subs. HMSHost will also bring travelers Newark Budweiser Brew House and Smashburger.
Jersey by the Shore food hall will transport Terminal B travelers to the flavors and atmosphere of the seaside boardwalks found in beach towns up and down New Jersey’s coast. This multi-concept food hall will feature Malone’s Fish Market, bringing a Jersey-fresh wharf-like seafood dining experience with local craft brews and signature cocktails; Firehouse Subs, giving diners on-the-go ultimate portability with toasted subs, steamed and piled high with the highest quality meats and cheeses; and Little Tony’s Pizzeria, because a visit to the shore must include a classic boardwalk pizzeria selling hot pizza by the slice, calzones, and salads.
The Budweiser Newark Brew House will celebrate the local history of Anheuser-Busch’s Newark brewery, the company’s second oldest in the nation. A German-inspired biergarten motif will create the ideal environment for travelers to relax and enjoy the bar and a menu showcasing celebrated Anheuser Busch beers alongside a full bar offering an international selection of premium wines and classic cocktails. The locally-focused, classic American menu will have tempting Brew House sandwiches, salads, soups, breakfast options, and a convenient grab-and-go offering.
Smashburger will also open, giving travelers the option to enjoy this renowned fast casual burger chain’s famous 100% fresh never frozen hand-smashed to order patties, flavorful Smashfries, and salads.

Fairbanks International Airport Baggage Transport Conveyor Enhanced With Mod Drive™ System
Airports face a host of unique industry challenges, such as meeting efficiency regulations and seeking out the best maintenance practices to reduce costs and keep operations flowing. In today’s current economic climate, any potential cost savings can go a long way.
In 2019, Alaska’s Fairbanks International Airport (FAI) sought to modernize its equipment and operations. They were dissatisfied with the performance of the gearmotors on their baggage transport conveyors and began searching for new suppliers. Regal approached FAI with a solution that could improve equipment performance and simplify maintenance, with the added benefit of energy cost savings: the Hub City® MOD Drive™ system.
