Follows wins at MSP, OAK, BDL, and RNO
CHICAGO, IL, May 29, 2018 – MAG, owner of the third and fourth largest airports in the UK (Manchester and London Stansted), announces that its USA subsidiary, MAG USA, has been awarded a 10-year contract by the Greenville-Spartanburg Airport District to design, build and operate an Escape Lounge within the Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (IATA: GSP). Escape Lounges will be investing over $1 million in the 2,500 square foot space, which is scheduled to open in autumn of 2018.
Escape Lounges are premium common use airport lounges open to all guests. Guests entering the lounge will receive unlimited amenities that include hot and cold food and beverages, comfortable and relaxing seating with plenty of power outlets, high-speed Wi-Fi, local and national newspapers and up-to-the-second flight information. With a focus on local, each Escape Lounge’s food offerings are developed by an award-winning local chef, using locally sourced ingredients wherever possible. The search for this GSP’s esteemed chef is now under way in this city recently touted as an “emerging food-driven city” by Vouge.com.
Escape Lounges are part of the American Express Global Lounge CollectionSM giving American Express® Platinum Card® Members complimentary access, along with 2 guests, to all U.S. locations. For others wishing to enjoy the lounge, the fee for entry at the door will be $45 plus tax. Reservations made online prior to arrival receive a $5 discount and can be made at EscapeLounges.com.
“This Escape Lounge will allow us to offer all passengers a premium sanctuary during the time after security and before boarding their flight. It’s important for us to create an enjoyable airport experience from ticket purchase to destination and this lounge is going to elevate a large piece of that journey,” says Dave Edwards, President/CEO of Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport.
“We are thrilled to be a part of the continued expansion in passenger amenities at Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport. Our Escape Lounge will deliver the flavours of the local community which has firmly placed itself on the map as a foodie destination,” says Rosemarie Andolino, President and CEO of MAG USA.
This is the fifth major contract win for MAG USA following existing Escape Lounges already open in Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP), Oakland International Airport (OAK), Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO) and Bradley International Airport (BDL) near Hartford.
