FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ew Bag Drop Locations Open in DEN Parking Lots Free bag drop service allows passengers to check bags from the comfort of the car at the Pikes Peak and Mt. Elbert shuttle lots DENVER – Nov. 15, 2018 –– Denver International Airport (DEN) today announced the opening of a new, free bag drop service at its shuttle parking lots. DEN passengers parking in the Pikes Peak or Mt. Elbert lots can now check their bags and print their boarding passes prior to parking their car and boarding a shuttle to the terminal. “This new bag drop service is the first of its kind in the country and is another way Denver International Airport is working to make travel easier for our passengers,” said airport CEO Kim Day. “Ultimately, our goal is to make your trip as efficient and enjoyable as we can, and this bag drop is another one of the unique services we now offer to accomplish this goal.” Bag drop service in DEN’s Pikes Peak and Mt. Elbert shuttle parking lots will save passengers time as they will not have to go to a check-in counter in the terminal and it eliminates the hassle of carrying luggage onto the shuttle and through the terminal. Additionally, with less luggage on the shuttle, there is more space for additional passengers. To use the service, passengers should follow signs in the Pikes Peak and Mt. Elbert parking lots to the bag drop kiosk where a greeter will remove the luggage from the car, check in the passenger and even print boarding passes. Then, the passenger proceeds to park, boards the shuttle and heads directly to security once arriving at the terminal. Bag drop is a free service offered by DEN and is available for domestic flights on Southwest, United, Delta and American Airlines. Passengers using bag drop must be checked in and have dropped off their bags at least 90 minutes before their flight. Airline bag fees are paid at the bag drop kiosk. The service is available Saturday through Thursday from 2 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday from 2 a.m. to 7 p.m. To accommodate passengers arriving at the airport by train or bus, DEN also offers bag drop services at the Transit Center. More information, including bag drop hours is available here. Information about parking and parking availability is available at FlyDenver.com.
Denver International Airport is the fifth-busiest airport in the United States. With more than 61 million passengers traveling through the airport each year, DEN is one of the busiest airline hubs in the world’s largest aviation market. DEN is the primary economic engine for the state of Colorado, generating more than $26 billion for the region annually. Giving back to the community is central to what Charlotte Douglas International Airport and its operator, the City of Charlotte Aviation Department, is about, and last year was no different.
Throughout 2022, while recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic, we continued our efforts to have a positive impact on the Charlotte community. Of particular note, we spent the year sharing stories of how Connections Don't Just Happen at the Terminal - from creating homeownership and employment opportunities to supporting economic growth through small-business development and offering outreach programs to help residents understand the Airport better.
This whitepaper highlights the construction projects, initiatives, programs and events that validate Charlotte Douglas as a premier airport.
