Red Mountain Grill Iron Forged Spirits and Provisions
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (November 2, 2020) Travelers flying through Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport (BHM) have new food and beverage options. Global restaurateur HMSHost opened Red Mountain Grill to bring more offerings and enrich the passenger dining experience at BHM. Red Mountain Grill is the first-of-its-kind restaurant in the airport where travelers can enjoy ‘Bama BBQ and locally-sourced craft spirits.
“Birmingham is known as the “dinner table of the South” so we are very excited for our passengers to have more unique dining options before flying to their destinations, said Ronald F. Mathieu, Birmingham Airport Authority President and CEO. “HMSHost is an industry leader in providing the right mix of restaurants that create the best airport dining experience for all travelers. We look forward to our ongoing partnership in providing passengers with the best experiences to eat, drink and be merry.”
Centrally located on Concourse B, Red Mountain Grill will offer a variety of burgers, sandwiches, and other signature ‘Bama BBQ favorites with more menu items to come. To help expedite the dining experience for busy travelers, HMSHost created the menu specifically with a traveler’s need for speed of service in mind.
“Birmingham has an exciting culinary and craft spirits scene. We’re honored to bring that into the airport with Red Mountain Grill and would like to thank the Birmingham Airport Authority for the opportunity to deliver new dining options to its travelers,” said HMSHost Director of Business Development Tosin Kasali.
To complement the mouthwatering menu of signature ‘Bama BBQ, handcrafted cocktails will be served using local spirits in partnership with Redmont Distilling Company, with NBA legend and Alabama native Charles Barkley as the brand’s “head coach” and majority owner. Redmont takes its name from Birmingham’s Red Mountain and honors Birmingham’s rich history of iron ore.
Food and beverage services at BHM have been rightsized to better fit the current level of passenger traffic in the terminal. Passenger traffic is steadily increasing each month after sharply declining in March due to the COVID-19 global pandemic. As more passengers resume travel, additional restaurants will reopen in the terminal.

PAVIX: Proven Winner for All Airport Concrete Infrastructure
International Chem-Crete Corporation (ICC) manufactures and sells PAVIX, a unique line of crystalline waterproofing products that penetrate into the surface of cured concrete to fill and seal pores and capillary voids, creating a long lasting protective zone within the concrete substrate.
Once concrete is treated, water is prevented from penetrating through this protective zone and causing associated damage, such as freeze-thaw cracking, reinforcing steel corrosion, chloride ion penetration, and ASR related cracking.
This white paper discusses how the PAVIX CCC100 technology works and its applications.
