Frauenfeld, October 1, 2020 – As of January 1, 2021 Steffen Schewerda will become the CEO North
America of the Aebi Schmidt Group. He takes over from Jochen Schneider, who has held this
position since the 4th quarter of 2018.
Steffen Schewerda takes over as Chief Executive Officer North America of the Aebi Schmidt Group as of
January 1, 2021. In this function, he will be responsible for all North American sales and production sites
from our office in Wisconsin. Steffen Schewerda will be introduced to his new role by the current CEO
North America, Jochen Schneider, starting from October 5, 2020. Jochen Schneider has held the position
of CEO North America since the 4th quarter of 2018 and will return to Europe at the end of 2020, where
he will take over the management of all European plants of the Aebi Schmidt Group.
"After a rigorous selection process, I am very pleased to announce that we have found in Steffen
Schewerda a highly qualified candidate for the position of CEO North America," says Barend Fruithof,
CEO Aebi Schmidt Group. "With the acquisition of the US company MB Companies in 2018 and the
Canadian manufacturer of winter service equipment ELP acquired in September 2020, North America will
gain a strong significance within the Aebi Schmidt Group. The new CEO North America will drive our
growth strategy and continue to expand our market position in North America.”
Steffen started his career in 1997 at SAF Holland, where he worked until the end of 2019, most recently
as President Americas. SAF Holland is one of the leading global commercial vehicles suppliers and the
largest independently listed manufacturer of chassis-related systems and components for trailers and
semi-trailers, trucks and buses in Europe. It is also among the market leaders in North America. After
various functions at SAF GmbH in Germany, Steffen moved to Muskegon, Michigan (USA) in 2007 as
President Global Operations and worked from 2011 to 2015 as President Trailer Business Unit. In 2016
he took over the responsibility as President Americas at SAF Holland.
He is married to an American, has two children and has been living in the States for 13 years. Barend
Fruithof says: “Not only does Steffen Schewerda speak perfect English, but he is also very familiar with
the culture and customs of the country. This is crucial for us and is very advantageous for Steffen in his
role as CEO North America.”

2022 Charlotte Douglas International Airport Report of Achievement
Giving back to the community is central to what Charlotte Douglas International Airport and its operator, the City of Charlotte Aviation Department, is about, and last year was no different.
Throughout 2022, while recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic, we continued our efforts to have a positive impact on the Charlotte community. Of particular note, we spent the year sharing stories of how Connections Don't Just Happen at the Terminal - from creating homeownership and employment opportunities to supporting economic growth through small-business development and offering outreach programs to help residents understand the Airport better.
This whitepaper highlights the construction projects, initiatives, programs and events that validate Charlotte Douglas as a premier airport.
