In June 2018 Vacation Express announced the return of nonstop charter flights between Kansas City International Airport and Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. Launched in February 2018 the route became the first-ever nonstop service between Kansas City and Punta Cana. The flights will extend a week past the previously announced July date.
The flights operate effective February 15 through August 2, 2019, with flights departing Kansas City on Friday and returning on Thursday as part of six-night packages offered by Vacation Express. For travelers who already have a place to stay, air-only is available.
The weekly charter flight to Punta Cana will again be operated by Miami Air International, featuring large Boeing 737-800 aircraft with 180 seats.
"Punta Cana is one of our most popular destinations, and we're happy to be able to provide Kansas City with non-stop flights to this Caribbean paradise for the second consecutive year,” said Kevin Hernandez, Vacation Express vice president, sales & digital strategy. “Increasing numbers of favorite resort brands such as Royalton and Excellence in Punta Cana only increases its popularity, so there's something for every type of traveler."
“The Vacation Express return for a second season at Kansas City International Airport is good news for leisure fliers in the four-state region,” said Pat Klein, Kansas City director of aviation. “Punta Cana has become the most popular Caribbean destination from Kansas City.”
Flights and vacation packages are offered through vacationexpress.com or by calling 800-309-4717. Travelers may also book their travel through their local travel agent.

2022 Charlotte Douglas International Airport Report of Achievement
Giving back to the community is central to what Charlotte Douglas International Airport and its operator, the City of Charlotte Aviation Department, is about, and last year was no different.
Throughout 2022, while recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic, we continued our efforts to have a positive impact on the Charlotte community. Of particular note, we spent the year sharing stories of how Connections Don't Just Happen at the Terminal - from creating homeownership and employment opportunities to supporting economic growth through small-business development and offering outreach programs to help residents understand the Airport better.
This whitepaper highlights the construction projects, initiatives, programs and events that validate Charlotte Douglas as a premier airport.
