ORLANDO, FL. – August spelled back-to-school time and the end of family vacations for many travelers at Orlando International Airport (MCO). For the calendar year-to-date, some 32.2 million
travelers have moved through MCO. That is an increase of 5.39 percent over the same time last year.
Historically Orlando International Airport has seen a softening of passenger traffic during this time period because of the traditional end of summer family vacations and students heading back to
class. MCO traditionally uses this time frame to plan, prepare and enhance services for the busy end-of-year travel season.
In August, Frontier Airlines increased its service at MCO with additional flights to Portland, Syracuse, Norfolk, Ontario, Harrisburg and Pittsburgh. International traffic was also bolstered with new service from Avianca to Guatemala, Peru and El Salvador.

Fairbanks International Airport Baggage Transport Conveyor Enhanced With Mod Drive™ System
Airports face a host of unique industry challenges, such as meeting efficiency regulations and seeking out the best maintenance practices to reduce costs and keep operations flowing. In today’s current economic climate, any potential cost savings can go a long way.
In 2019, Alaska’s Fairbanks International Airport (FAI) sought to modernize its equipment and operations. They were dissatisfied with the performance of the gearmotors on their baggage transport conveyors and began searching for new suppliers. Regal approached FAI with a solution that could improve equipment performance and simplify maintenance, with the added benefit of energy cost savings: the Hub City® MOD Drive™ system.
