United Airlines adds second nonstop departure to Denver - April 2018
SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA—The San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport announces the addition of a second daily United Airlines flight between San Luis Obispo (SBP) and Denver (DEN) due to the terrific community response. This additional frequency will begin on April 9, 2018 and is on sale now at www.united.com.
Service to Denver initiated on June 8, 2017, making the Mile-High City the second destination added to the airport’s route map this year. Denver is one of three nonstop destinations offered locally by United Airlines, along with Los Angeles and San Francisco. This additional frequency provides added connectivity for passengers to over 120 domestic locations and nearly a dozen international destinations.
The flight will be operated by SkyWest Airlines and will begin April 9, 2018. With the addition of this second daily frequency, travelers will be offered both morning and afternoon flight options, opening up more flexibility for area travelers.
“United Airlines is looking forward to connecting more customers to California’s Central Coast,” said Anthony Toth, United’s managing director of Sales. “Our additional service offers customers traveling for both business and leisure another convenient choice to get to San Luis Obispo from the Rocky Mountain region and beyond via United’s hub in Denver.”
Director of Airports Kevin Bumen C.M., C.A.E. notes, “United continues to be an excellent partner to the airport and this announcement of a second daily flight to Denver comes as a result of the support of the entire community.
The San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport opened a new terminal building on November 2, 2017 which provides 56,000 square feet airport space to passengers and allows the Airport to provide an enhanced passenger experience to travelers.
The San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors, Visit SLO CAL, the Economic Vitality Corporation and other regional partners continue to offer their support on behalf of the airport. “The airport team and its partners continue to work hard to get the word out about flight options and the positive impact that air service has on the region,” adds Bumen. “The announcement of this new frequency to Denver, paired with the recent opening of the airport terminal, positions us to enter into the new year fully prepared to serve our region’s air service needs.”
