SOUTH BEND, IN – The St. Joseph County Airport Authority has named Rich Voniderstine Assistant Vice President - Operations & Maintenance for South Bend International Airport (SBN). In this role, he will assist the Vice President of Operations by managing the ongoing inspections, maintenance, and technical support activities required to ensure that airport operations and facilities are maintained in a safe, efficient and effective manner. He began his new position on November 15, 2023.
Most recently, Mr. Voniderstine was Airport Operations Supervisor for the Sarasota Manatee Airport Authority where he supervised a team of Operations officers and Airport Security Coordinators. He managed the airport ID badging department and had oversite of Landside and Terminal Operations. Mr. Voniderstine has also worked for La Crosse Regional Airport as Airport Operations Coordinator as well as Southwest Airlines and Delta Air Lines.
“I am very excited to join the South Bend International Airport team and continue the development and growth of the airport,” said Mr. Voniderstine. “I look forward to returning to the Midwest and working at SBN to bring the Operations and Maintenance departments together to best service the traveling public. I know I will be joining a quality team with a passion for aviation and desire to make South Bend the number one choice to fly from.”
Mr. Voniderstine earned his bachelor’s degree in Aviation Administration from Utah Valley University.
