Syracuse, New York – Syracuse International Airport is pleased to release a draft of the detailed schedule of Air Show performers. We have an exciting show for the community with gates opening at 9:00 a.m. and the Blue Angels closing the show with a 90 minute performance beginning at 3:00 p.m. The schedule will be the same for both Saturday June 11 and Sunday June 12. The complete schedule can be found on our website at http://www.syracuseairshow.com/schedule/
The U.S. Navy Blue Angels have also made their choice for one lucky member of the local media to take a ride in their F-18 jet. Syracuse Airport nominated four media personnel for the once in a lifetime opportunity, the Blue Angles then selected their primary media rider, and an alternate rider in case the primary is unable to participate. Michael Benny from CNY Central will be the primary rider, and Gabrielle Lucivero from TWC News will be the alternate rider.
"This is going to be epic! Growing up in Scotia, The Blue Angels were part of many Schenectady County Air Shows - they flew over my house nearly every summer of my childhood.” Recalled Michael Benny, “To take viewers along for this ride is going to be a thrill beyond measure. I am honored to have been selected."
All nominees were required to submit a brief biography and a medical history to ensure they are well enough for the flight. The flight is physically demanding as any rigorous exercise or sport activity. The duties of the media rider are to first cover the story of the two Key Influencer Riders, and then to cover their own ride. The Key Influencer Riders have not yet been selected. These rides are scheduled to take place on Wednesday June 8, 2016.
Additional media coverage of these rides is welcomed and encouraged. Any media interested in covering these rides should please contact Heather Malinowski at malinowskih@syrairport.org for further details and instructions.
Fairbanks International Airport Baggage Transport Conveyor Enhanced With Mod Drive™ System
Airports face a host of unique industry challenges, such as meeting efficiency regulations and seeking out the best maintenance practices to reduce costs and keep operations flowing. In today’s current economic climate, any potential cost savings can go a long way.
In 2019, Alaska’s Fairbanks International Airport (FAI) sought to modernize its equipment and operations. They were dissatisfied with the performance of the gearmotors on their baggage transport conveyors and began searching for new suppliers. Regal approached FAI with a solution that could improve equipment performance and simplify maintenance, with the added benefit of energy cost savings: the Hub City® MOD Drive™ system.
This white paper discusses the hardware deployed, the test results and the annualized expectations for ROI.
