Airport Seating Alliance Completes Seating Install at ECP

Jul 1, 2024 | News

Memphis, TN – Aug. 24, 2020 – Airport Seating Alliance has completed an install of 250 FLEX seats at Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport (ECP), providing every seat with Power and Go seat charging modules, company officials said today.

The new seating was part of a terminal expansion that added two new gates at the Panama City, FL airport, says James Hammond, ASA general manager.

“ECP selected the Flex model with molded polyurethane cushions because it is an extremely heavy-duty seat that was designed and engineered for style, ergonomic comfort, and suited for high traffic locations,” says Hammond. “Additionally, Flex was a good match with existing seating at other gates in the airport.”

The install also included seven Power and Go charging tables with custom Corian surfaces to match airport surfaces. Delivery and installation was completed in three days, Hammond says.

Power and Go seating has fast charging speeds, delivering up to 5 amps of charging power. Green power LED provides visual indication of power to the devices and the stainless-steel USB ports are rated for 10,000 insertions, Hammond says.

In addition, regardless of whether a receptacle outlet reaches end of life or the USB technology becomes obsolete, the Hubbell USB receptacles can be replaced without having to change the chassis or cord assemblies. Hammond says it is similar to replacing receptacle wall outlets and can be done by a licensed electrician or qualified electrical maintenance staff.

“Power and Go seat charging was designed for high traffic airport locations and has components with an expected useful life ranging from 15 to 25 years,” says Hammond. “The feature to upgrade Power and Go as needed adds additional long term value or return on investment.”

Airport Seating Alliance is a certified woman-owned small business. Its airport division supplies high quality public seating and custom power charging solutions to international and regional airports. For more information, contact James Hammond at jhammond@airportseatingalliance.com.
