Memphis, TN – Aug. 18, 2021 – Airport Seating Alliance, a premier provider of quality airport seating, has announced the completion of a small but important installation at the US Air Force Base on Wake Island Airfield in the Pacific. The U.S. Air Force prefers the Ridgeway model of seating and each blue vinyl cushion back was embossed with the AMC (Air Mobility Command) logo.
The installation was part of a project to replace worn-out terminal seating at the iconic airfield terminal. Each Ridgeway seating unit has all arms, making it comfortable for travelers waiting for their flight.
ASA, a certified woman-owned business, completed the project under a GSA contract, says James Hammond, ASA general manager. Delivery of the seats required intricate scheduling and tracking as they went from the production facility in Memphis, TN, to Hickman Air Force Base in Hawaii and then to Wake Island, Hammond says.
Hammond says the product model is a popular one. “Ridgeway has proven to be a superior product at hundreds of US government installations including airports, military, Social Security Administration, Homeland Security, TSA and US Customs and Border Patrol,” says Hammond. “And, what makes it especially valuable is that it is simple out-of-the-box assembly and extreme durability in high traffic locations.”
Airport Seating Alliance’s airport division supplies high quality public seating and custom power charging solutions to international and regional airports. For more information, contact James Hammond at jhammond@airportseatingalliance.com
