May 23, 2024 | News

CASPER, WY – Casper / Natrona County International Airport announced that it will host its first annual 5K Fun Run/Walk on Friday, June 16th.

Registration/Check-in starts at 5:30 pm with the run/walk beginning at 7 pm. Pre-registration is $10, day-of registration is $15, with kids 5 and under free. All proceeds for the event go to the Fly Casper Alliance Scholarship Fund. The Fly Casper Alliance Scholarship Fund is a 501(c)3 non-profit and has been established to offset the high cost of flight time for students at Casper College pursuing a Commercial Pilot License through the Aviation program. “We have been looking at hosting a fun run/walk for a few years,” said Glenn Januska, Airport Director. “Giving people an opportunity to run or walk on a runway, at the same time supporting the next generation of pilots is a win/win.”

The starting point for the run is on the south end of the terminal building. In addition, to the run/walk, food will be available from Papa’s Pork Chops, Papa Lombardi’s Italian Smoke House, and Iskream. Plus, DJ Nyke will be playing tunes, so there will be something for everyone, runners, walkers, or anyone wanting to cheer the others on!
