May 20, 2023 | News

GRAND JUNCTION, Colorado July 28, 2016 — Allegiant (NASDAQ: ALGT) today celebrates ten years of service out of Grand Junction Regional Airport (GJT).  Since 2006, Allegiant has carried over 385,000 passengers between Grand Junction and its two vacation destinations. Allegiant’s ultra-low-cost model has also reduced the average fare paid by Grand Junction area travelers, with base fares averaging $48.

Allegiant first offered service out of Grand Junction Regional Airport (GJT) to McCarran International Airport (LAS) on July 26, 2006. In the ten years that have followed, Allegiant has expanded its service by adding a seasonal route between Grand Junction and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

“We are pleased to be celebrating ten years of Allegiant service in Grand Junction,” said Jude Bricker, Allegiant chief operating officer. “We are proud to continue to offer Grand Junction travelers a convenient and affordable way to take a vacation.”

“We are excited to celebrate this milestone anniversary with Allegiant and treasure their continued service to and from GJT,” said Kip Turner, Executive Director for the Grand Junction Regional Airport.  “Allegiant’s offering of service to Las Vegas (LAS) and their seasonal service to Los Angeles (LAX) out of the Grand Junction Regional Airport offers a great alternative of direct travel to two of Grand Junctions top three origin and destination (O&D) markets for air travel.   The Las Vegas market is ranked the number one O&D market and the Los Angeles Basin is ranked as the number three O&D market for GJT.  We are hoping for many more years of continued service and growth with Allegiant.  We would like to offer a special thanks to Allegiant for partnering with the Grand Junction Regional Airport and the Grand Junction community.”
