A New Standard in Lounge Design, Influenced by Local Landscapes
The design of the lounge takes inspiration from the region’s natural landscape and outdoor spirit. Warm, earthy tones and open spaces reflect the city’s surrounding mountains and open skies. At the entrance, guests are welcomed by a ceiling installation, drawing on the textures of Utah’s salt flats with layered, hand-poured glass flakes that shimmer in the light.
Inside, the lounge celebrates the area’s vibrant arts community with works from local artists including a mixed-media collage interpretation of the American Express bulldog mascot reflecting Utah’s landscape by Erin Blundell, a large-format woven tapestry inspired by Salt Lake City’s mountains and salt flats by Rebecca Whitaker, and more. Near the coffee bar area, a custom ceiling installation by renowned lighting designer Lindsey Adelman takes its cues from constellations in the dark skies for which Salt Lake City is so well-known.
