Appleton Airport Announces 19th Nonstop Flight

Leaders confirm 1,088,980 people traveled through ATW in 2024 

(APPLETON, Wis.) Feb. 14, 2025 – Appleton International Airport (ATW) announces American Airlines will provide the airport’s 19th nonstop route, this one flying direct to Phoenix, Arizona. The flight starts on Feb. 15, 2025 and will provide service on Saturdays through May 3rd.

On February 14, Allegiant will resume its seasonal nonstop route to Savannah/Hilton Head in time for travelers booking Spring Break travel. The Savannah route will provide service twice per week through May and then once weekly, on Saturdays, through August 16th.  Allegiant features 12 nonstop destinations from Appleton International Airport, with many to warm weather destinations. The carrier has added 30% more seats in the first half of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024.

“These routes are providing northeast Wisconsin residents greater options when they’re traveling,” Weber said. “The days of driving two or three hours for convenient flights are behind us as we continue to offer more direct routes.”

Weber also announced that the final travel numbers for 2024 are in, and the Appleton Airport served more than 1-million arriving and departing passengers. Officially 1,088,980 individuals chose to travel through Appleton International airport, marking a 112% increase in traffic since 2015.

According to Weber, the passengers are from across Wisconsin and Upper Michigan.

“It’s not just residents of Outagamie County that are flying through ATW,” Weber said. “We are serving travelers from every part of the region.

Outagamie County Executive Thomas Nelson pointed out the significance of additional flights. “Any time a flight is added to ATW, it makes our part of the world a better place to live and work.” Nelson added, “The more accessible we are as a community, the more our businesses can grow.”

The Appleton Airport is served by American, Delta, and United Airlines and is the only Wisconsin airport served by Allegiant Airlines. Additional nonstop routes now include:

  • Nashville, TN
  • Flights to Florida include Ft. Lauderdale/Miami, Tampa/St. Petersburg, Sarasota/Bradenton, Ft. Meyers/Punta Gorda, Orlando/Sanford

  • Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN
