RNO is bringing you more of what you love, including more art to the airport. Introducing the all-new Arts at the Airport program, designed to showcase captivating public and local art that celebrates our unique community. As a testament to our commitment, 1% of airport Capital Improvement Project (CIP) design and construction costs will be dedicated to this dynamic arts program.

RNO has many projects coming soon as the MoreRNO Infrastructure Program is underway. Along with a more room in the ticketing hall, more space to park your car and more gates in the two new concourses, RNO will bring in more art to complement the thriving local art scene.

Ticketing Hall Soffit

We’re thrilled to announce that our first public art installation, a remarkable project by the nationally acclaimed artist Dixie Friend Gay, will be unveiled in the Ticketing Hall in spring 2024. The artwork, to be installed along the 450ft wide soffit above the airline ticket counters, will represent the Reno-Tahoe region and inspire passengers for years to come. Sneak peek of the artwork is coming soon.

For decades, the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority (RTAA) and its airports RNO and Reno-Stead (RTS), has supported the arts and our local art community. From Reno-Tahoe inspired sculptures to captivating performance art and historical displays, RNO has been instrumental in introducing travelers to the area’s rich art scene from the moment they touch ground.

Artown Recap

Live performances at RNO

Passengers got into the groove with lively performances throughout the month of July. Three local groups High Desert Harmony, The Note-Ables and Silver Sage Ukuladies, performed in the airport as part of RNO’s Artown festivities. We spotted passengers tapping their toes to the rhythm and even dance through the terminal as they caught their flight.

If you missed a live performance and want to know what’s next, keep up-to-date on social media or on our website. The depARTures Gallery on C Concourse will soon feature Burning Man.
