Atkins Joint Venture Awarded Worldwide Architectural and Engineering Services Airfield Design Contract

OMAHA, Neb., USA: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Omaha District has selected ABF JV, a joint venture (JV) between Atkins, a member of the SNC-Lavalin Group, Black & Veatch and FSB Architects + Engineers, to provide architectural and engineering services in support of military and civil/commercial airfields worldwide.

“Atkins has partnered with a world-class team to provide USACE with the ideal mix of skill and expertise needed to deliver the full suite of military planning, design and construction services around the globe,” Steve Morriss, President, Engineering Services, U.S., Atkins. “Our large international network in North America, Asia, Europe and the Middle East ensures our team has the relationships and experience to deliver mission critical infrastructure.”

Under a five-year $30M Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Multiple Award Task Order Contract (MATOC) the ABF JV will provide a full range of services such as developing airfield related designs and as-built sketches, completing technical reviews, surveys and operational and maintenance procedure evaluations and developing future planning requirements. Atkins, Black & Veatch and FSB Architects and Engineers have more than 160 years of combined project experience for the Department of Defense (DoD). The ABF JV team has completed more than $12 billion in aviation and infrastructure design work collectively in the last 10 years for the DoD.

“Our project approach combines experienced people, proven technology and innovative design to address USACE needs,” said David Schilling, P.E., Atkins Aviation Senior Project Manager and ABF JV Project Manager.

The combined team has access to more than 30,000 architects, engineers and support specialists that includes staff with specific expertise related to the airfield design contract who have earned multiple federal awards and commendations for their work.
