Austin Airport Installs SmartPack/Insite Wireless Trash Compactors in Terminals

May 19, 2021 | News

Harmony, MN – Harmony Enterprises announced today that it is installing six SmartPack Automatic Trash Compactors at the Austin-Bergstom International Airport, allowing the Texas airport to handle 10x more waste than normal garbage containers and save on hauling costs, labor, and trash can liners.

The smart compactors utilize an invisible technology system which alerts staff via email or SMS text message when a compactor is full or in need of service.  This allows for better use of staff time, says Harmony Business Development Manager Lane Powell.

“Harmony waste receptacles are about the same size as regular trash containers except they crush 10x more waste to allow more waste to be in each bag,” Powell says. “The no touch door and modern, customizable décor make them appealing in any airport setting. Each one of these compactors saves up to 70% on trash related expenses while improving the overall customer experience.”

The cost of the purchase is surpassed by an ROI in less than 2 years.
