Telford, UK – (Aug. 15, 2023) – Aviramp is announcing today its extended range of remote stand aircraft boarding ramps and bridges with the introduction of the 913 series.
The Aviramp 913 series derives its name from the requirements laid out by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in its Airport Handling Manual and in particular Chapter 9: Paragraph AHM 913 Basic Safety Requirements for Aircraft Ground Support Equipment.
Although the general structural design follows the trusted Aviramp, low angled, wheelchair-friendly slopes there have been several additions to the ancillary equipment on-board that include:
- Automated speed mode adjustment on approach and in vicinity to the aircraft from tortoise to snail speed;
- Movement prevention sensors ensuring all ramps, sliding gates etc are fully stowed prior to moving;
- And full width buffer sensor pad to avoid touching aircraft.
“This is another world first for us” says CEO Graham Corfield. “The entire team has worked hard to implement as many requirements as possible of the IATA AHM Chapter 9. Our motivation comes from innovation, passenger-operator experience, and safety. We still offer our standard range of units which many features already comply however we have noticed a particular increase in customers asking whether Aviramp complies, now we can say yes, we have the 913 range.”
The 913 range is being officially launched at this year’s International GSE Expo 2023 at the Las Vegas Convention Centre.
Aviramp leads the way in boarding ramp design and has already taken major steps to offer sustainability-compliant units with the introduction of the range of Solar powered models which includes their largest International wide body unit.
