Jul 20, 2024 | News

Birmingham, Al – The Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport is the largest commercial passenger airport in the state of Alabama. In 2017, it served over 2.6 million passengers traveling to and from the region.  In October, BHM is displaying a distinct lighting scheme on the parking deck for the month of October to celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness month.

“The airport is situated 6 miles from the city center and seen by thousands of commuters each day, our hope is to raise awareness for breast cancer prevention,” said Sylvester Lavender, Interim President and CEO of the Birmingham Airport Authority.

This traditional has been in place since 2009 and continues through today.
