San José, Calif. – In preparation for increased travel surrounding the Big Game at Levi’s® Stadium, San José Mineta International Airport (SJC) is expanding mobility options for passengers with a seven-day activation of the BBGo Autonomous Personal Mobility Vehicle, developed by San José-based tech startup Blueberry Technology.

From Feb. 4-10, SJC will deploy BBGo vehicles to supplement existing mobility servicesfor travelers who may not require a wheelchair but would benefit from additional support navigating the terminals during one of the busiest travel periods of the year.

Designed for effortless airport travel, BBGo features a user-friendly, multilingual interface and provides fully autonomous rides from a simple boarding pass scan to a passenger’s gate, with optional personalized stops at restrooms, restaurants and retail locations. For safety, the vehicle is equipped with an automatic collision-avoidance system.

Using BBGo is simple. Each ride begins with a boarding pass scan, after which the vehicle autonomously navigates to the passenger’s gate. Riders can choose full autonomy, joystick-assisted driving or manual pushing, allowing flexibility based on comfort and preference.

The BBGo activation supports SJC’s broader efforts to deliver a reliable, welcoming and accessible travel experience as the region hosts major national and international events. It will be available to passengers on select dates throughout the year during major sporting events.

“This Super Bowl activation highlights how SJC continues to adapt and innovate to meet passenger needs during peak travel periods,” said San José City Manager Jennifer Maguire. “By testing emerging mobility solutions in a real-world environment, the Airport is improving accessibility while supporting local companies and regional innovation.”

“As we welcome visitors from across the country for the Super Bowl, San José is showcasing the innovation that defines our City,” said San José Mayor Matt Mahan. “New mobility technologies at SJC reflect our commitment to accessibility, smart infrastructure and delivering a great first impression for travelers arriving in Silicon Valley.”

“SJC is proud to be immersed in the ingenuity of Silicon Valley,” said Mookie Patel, director of aviation at San José Mineta International Airport. “Emerging mobility solutions like BBGo allow us to enhance accessibility, improve the passenger experience and stay at the forefront of innovation – especially during high-profile events.”

Blueberry Technology Founder and CEO Dr. Rajeev Ramanath said the activation demonstrates how innovation can directly support travelers. “BBGo is built around the passenger experience,” Ramanath said. “Our autonomous mobility solution is designed to make airport travel comfortable, inclusive, and more efficient – particularly during busy travel periods.”

As part of its commitment to inclusivity and innovation, Blueberry Technology names each BBGo vehicle after pioneering female scientists and engineers. The four vehicles deployed at SJC during the SJ 2026 events are named in honor of Marguerite Perey, the French physicist who discovered the element francium; Hedy Lamarr, the Hollywood star who developed the technology that laid the framework for modern Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS; Katsuko Saruhashi, the Japanese geochemist who discovered the dangers of nuclear fallout in seawater and the atmosphere and Sally Ride, the first American woman in space.
