Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport and photographer Ajani Charles expand Project T-Dot to fourth wall; extend exhibit to September
Due to its overwhelming popularity with travellers, community members and employees, Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport and Ajani Charles have announced that Project T-Dot, the airport’s largest-ever art installation, will be extended to September 2025. Moreover, the expansive photographic chronicle of Toronto Hip-Hop culture now occupies a large, fourth wall in the airport’s atrium that features 15 new photographs—each with a compelling story about how the subject in question helped shape Hip-Hop in Toronto. New subjects include Russell Peters, 4KORNERS, King Lou and Capital Q of Dream Warriors, Ken Masters, Big C and many more.
Since February 2024, millions of travellers, community members and employees at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport have experienced Ajani Charles’ Project T-Dot, the largest-ever exhibit at the airport featuring 60 large scale photographic panels and an interactive learning screen celebrating Toronto’s diverse Hip-Hop culture and community. The exhibit stands as a testament to the airport’s commitment to reflect the vibrant Toronto community and connect people through art, even as it facilitates the vital air connections that help to drive Toronto, Ontario and Canada’s visitor economy.
The exhibit as a whole features a host of notable figures from Toronto Hip-Hop, including but not limited to Baby Yu, Boi-1da, Chris Bosh, Click, Director X, Drake, Future The Prince, Haviah Mighty, Jessie Reyez, Jonathan Ramos, Jully Black, Kardinal Offishall, Killy, Lissa Monet, Maestro Fresh Wes, Marlon Palmer, Mastermind, Master T, Monika Deole, Moses Znaimer, Ron Nelson, SAFE, Shawn Desman, SKAM, Skratch Bastid, Smoke Dawg, Starting From Scratch, TOBi, The Weeknd, and Tyrone Edwards.
