Using these simulators to produce computer-controlled fires, students practice responding to situations like large-scale flammable liquid fires, engine fires, wheel and brake fires and aircraft interior fires with rollover and flashover. Online registration for select classes, along with a complete course list, is available at www.bluegrassairport.com/training.
“We are looking forward to meeting new faces throughout the year,” said D. Scott Lanter, Director of Public Safety and Operations at Blue Grass Airport, “as well as welcoming our returning students as we continue to serve not only the region, but also the entire country and sometimes international airports.”
Expert instructors Scott May and Brian Wainscott come to the training center with years of experience in response to aircraft accidents, firefighting and law enforcement. Bringing the skills acquired from their previous service in these fields along with a dedication to furthering their students’ ability to handle any situation, May and Wainscott provide a crucial balance of classroom instruction and hands-on practical exercises.
