Airline will Offer Nonstops to Two Destinations Starting This Summer
BIRMINGHAM, AL (February 24, 2026) – A big announcement at the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport (BHM) will mean a new airline, new nonstop destinations, and new low-fare options for travelers. The local announcement came during an event at the airport this morning. Breeze Airways will launch the new service at BHM on July 3rd with twice weekly nonstops to Fort Lauderdale (FLL) and Raleigh-Durham (RDU).
“This is an exciting day for travelers in Birmingham,” said Ashby Pate, Board Chair of the Birmingham Airport Authority. “Breeze is expanding rapidly and clearly has a lot of confidence in this market,” said Pate.
Breeze Airways operates more than 300 year-round and seasonal routes to 86 cities in the United States, Mexico, and the Caribbean. Founded by aviation entrepreneur David Neeleman, Breeze took flight in May 2021 bringing premium, affordable, and nonstop air service to secondary markets on its flagship fleet of Airbus A220-300 aircraft. The nonstop flights to FLL and RDU are already built into the Breeze schedule beginning July 3rd and are available for purchase at Flybreeze.com. The twice a week service will take off on Mondays and Fridays. Passengers can book BHM to RDU from $49* one way and BHM to FLL from $59* one way.
