KANSAS CITY, Missouri — Burns & McDonnell has expanded its aviation leadership to enhance client service and strengthen delivery across the firm’s growing portfolio of airport and airline programs.

Jason Fuehne has been named national airports projects director, and Eric Bahr has been named national airlines projects director, as the firm continues to expand its aviation services and align leadership to meet evolving client needs. Chris Spann, who has served as national aviation director since 2020, will continue contributing as a senior adviser and strategic resource for the aviation team and its clients.

“After four decades in the industry, it is time for me to step aside and let the next generation of talented professionals continue to build on what we’ve started,” Spann says. “Burns & McDonnell has long prided itself on its relationships with our clients and the level of service that we bring. With Jason and Eric leading our airports and airlines business lines, that level of service will continue to excel.”

Fuehne has more than two decades of experience managing complex infrastructure and facility programs at commercial service airports. His leadership reflects both technical knowledge and a deep understanding of the regulatory and operational priorities of airport authorities nationwide.

“As our aviation industry advances to meet increasing passenger demands and infrastructure challenges, our goal is to continue partnering closely with clients to deliver resilient, efficient programs,” Fuehne says. “We’re building on the strong foundation Chris has helped create while bringing new energy to how we collaborate and execute.”

Bahr specializes in the programming, design and construction of aviation facilities. His background includes leading projects with accelerated schedules and collaborating closely with construction professionals to develop cost-effective, value-driven solutions. His experience with design-build delivery enhances the firm’s ability to provide seamless, integrated services for airline clients.

“Burns & McDonnell has always been about people and partnerships,” Bahr says. “We’re focused on helping our airline and airport clients achieve their long-term goals, whether that’s expanding capacity, enhancing passenger experience or modernizing facilities to meet future needs.”

With the new structure, the Burns & McDonnell aviation team continues its commitment to technical excellence, progressive project delivery and innovative thinking to help clients plan and build the next generation of aviation facilities and infrastructure.
