Syracuse, New York – The Syracuse Regional Airport Authority (SRAA) announced today that Delta Air Lines will significantly expand air service for Central New York travelers in Summer 2026, highlighted by two major enhancements: a fourth daily nonstop flight between Syracuse Hancock International Airport (SYR) and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) and a major aircraft upgauge on the airline’s Minneapolis–Syracuse route, increasing capacity by 75%.
Beginning June 7, 2026, Delta will introduce a new mid‑day frequency between SYR and ATL. The flight will depart Atlanta around 12:00 p.m. (ET) and arrive in Syracuse at approximately 2:15 p.m. (ET). The return flight will depart SYR at 3:15 p.m. (ET) and land in Atlanta shortly after 5:45 p.m. (ET). Operated on an Airbus A321, this added frequency strengthens SYR’s most economically vital air connection while enhancing same‑day connectivity to Delta’s extensive global network.
In addition to expanded Atlanta service, Delta will also upgauge its Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport (MSP) service. Beginning Summer 2026, Delta will transition the route from a CRJ900 regional jet to the larger Airbus A319. This aircraft upgrade will increase seat capacity by approximately 75%, supporting the strong demand for travel between Central New York and the Upper Midwest and improving connectivity to Delta’s global network.
“Adding a fourth daily Delta flight between Syracuse and Atlanta strengthens the single most economically important air connection for Central New York—and now, Delta is doubling down with a substantial aircraft upgrade on the Minneapolis route,” said SRAA Executive Director Jason Terreri. “These enhancements provide greater reliability, more flexibility, and expanded access to domestic and international destinations through Delta’s hub network. This is a major win for travelers and for the economic vitality of our region.”
