Jan 15, 2025 | News

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado – The Colorado Springs Airport (COS) was notified of the award of a $5.864 million dollar airport infrastructure grant from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for 2025. The funding is designated to the ElevateCOS terminal construction project. The ongoing project improves approximately 63,000 square feet of the existing terminal consisting of passenger movement and related areas. This project is part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law’s expanded eligibility, and the airport’s share will help renovate existing terminal hold room areas to improve the movement of passengers and baggage. This grant funds phase three, which consists of improvement of approximately four gates and related areas. “ElevateCOS is a systematic approach to terminal renovation, improvements which are key to us preserving the unique customer experience our guests have come to associate with COS. We’re excited with the news of our success with this grant as it will further enhance our modernization efforts,” said Greg Phillips, Director of Aviation for COS.  No local taxpayer dollars are being used for ElevateCOS projects.
