Nov 3, 2023 | News

Fresno, CA – The Fresno Yosemite International Airport System is pleased to announce two key leadership appointments timely with moving the Airport forward to accommodate traveler growth and future expansion.  Michael A. Musca, AAE, CPM has been named the new Assistant Director of Aviation and Melissa Garza-Perry the new Airports Properties Manager.  Musca and Garza-Perry bring a considerable amount of aviation experience and strong leadership to support the Airport’s forward vision.

Musca is replacing Daniel T. Weber who is retiring in January 2019 after 40 years of service in the aviation industry. Musca has 28 years of airport management experience, including positions at Portland (ME), County of Ventura, Sacramento County, City of Modesto and San Joaquin County.  In 2014, Musca was recruited to run the Airports Properties Division, which is tasked with leading the Fresno Yosemite International Airport System’s business development team.

Musca has a successful record managing terminal concession, airline and commercial leases.  His recent efforts to renegotiate a long-term aviation maintenance lease agreement resulted in retaining more than 300 jobs in the Fresno area. Other accomplishments include executing a 10-year lease for the operation and infrastructure improvements of the golf course located on airport property.

As Assistant Director of Aviation, Musca will be responsible for day-to-day operations, public safety, business and property management, and marketing efforts for both Fresno Yosemite International Airport and Fresno Chandler Executive Airport.

A retired U.S. Marine Corps officer, Musca earned a MBA in Finance from State University of New York at Buffalo.  He is also credentialed by the American Association of Airport Executives as an Accredited Airport Executive (AAE) as well as a Certified Property Manager (CPM).

A native of Fresno, Melissa Garza-Perry succeeds Musca’s role as Airports Properties Manager.  During the past 14 ½ years, Garza-Perry has progressively advanced within the Airports Properties Division.  Garza-Perry’s tenure at Airports has enabled her to work on a very broad range of issues and lines of business.

As Airports Properties Manager, Garza-Perry will be responsible for airport-airline lease agreements as well as non-airline airport revenue sources such as concession, rental car, parking and land lease agreements.  Contract compliance and business land development will also be led by Garza-Perry.

Garza-Perry has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in the legal environment from California State University, Fresno and a Juris Doctorate degree in Law from San Joaquin College of Law in Clovis, California.
