Ginger Evans Named Recipient of 2022 Aviation Award of Excellence

Alexandria, VA – The Airport Consultants Council (ACC) is pleased to announce the selection of Ginger Evans as the recipient of the 2022 ACC Aviation Award of Excellence. The award will be presented on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, during the ACC 44th Annual Conference.

The Aviation Award of Excellence award is presented annually to recognize an individual’s extraordinary contributions to the aviation industry that are visionary and innovated, have advanced the industry, and have served the good of the general public.

Evans was selected for the award based on her long and distinguished career as a valuable leader in the airport industry, including Director of Aviation for Denver and Chicago’s airports and Vice President for the Metropolitan Washington Airports. She is a nationally recognized leader in transportation and technology, who was also integral in driving diversity as part of her successful leadership teams.

“Ginger has fostered innovation and technological advancements throughout her extensive career in airports and transportation,” said ACC President T.J. Schulz. “From managing massive capital projects across North American and the Middle East, to serving in national leadership positions including the Executive and Strategic Policy Committees of the Transportation Research Board, Ginger is a proven leader that has left an indelible imprint on the airport industry.”

Her many recognitions and accomplishments include:

  • First woman and youngest person awarded the Engineering News Record’s (ENR’s) highest honor, the Award of Excellent, for the $3.1B new Denver Airport project;
  • Named a top 40 industry leader in 2019 for delivering $10B+ in airline agreements for Chicago’s airports, making her one of only two people to be recognized by ENR twice;
  • Recipient of the American Society of Engineers President’s Medal; and
  • Co-founder of AAAE’s ACT Initiative to accelerate terminal modernization through public-private collaboration.
