GRB Named “Business Partner of the Year’ by Discover Green Bay

(Green Bay, Wis.) Discover Green Bay, the official destination marketing organization for the Green Bay area, has named Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport (GRB) as its “Business Partner of the Year” for its impact on the Green Bay economy.

The two organizations have partnered on numerous initiatives in recent years including airline recruitment as well as business and convention attraction and retention. Earlier this year, GRB and Discover Green Bay worked together to dramatically improve the baggage claim area of the airport; creating a welcoming and informative space for travelers that showcases what the greater Green Bay area has to offer visitors.

“The airport is the front door to the community, the first thing travelers see when they arrive, so it’s important that all of us work together to put our best foot forward,” explained Airport Director, Marty Piette, A.A.E. “GRB is proud to partner with Discover Green Bay in enhancing the travel experience.”

Discover Green Bay President and CEO, Brad Toll, stated, “The entire team at GRB is great to work with – they are an organization that truly understands what it means to be a community partner. We are happy to recognize their efforts with this award.”

“Our airport understands the importance of partnerships and shared promotion to improve the regional economy through tourisum,” said Troy Strechenback, Brown County Executive. “We understand our reach goes well beyond our borders.” GRB has also opened the door for Discover Green Bay to promote the region with space at the airport’s EAA AirVenture booth as well as partnering with the Stars & Stripes “Flight of Champions” Honor Flight events.

The award was presented at Discovery Green Bay’s annual Tourism Conference which brought together hospitatlity and tourism professionals and partners from throughout the area.
