Raleigh-Durham Service to Benefit Business, Leisure Travelers

INDIANAPOLIS (Aug. 11, 2025) – Today Delta Airlines will resume operating its nonstop flight daily out of Indianapolis to Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU). Delta served Raleigh-Durham from January 2010 through April 2020, until the pandemic forced a halt in service.

Indianapolis Airport Authority officials worked diligently to bring the route back to the Indy airport.

“Raleigh-Durham is a highly sought-after route for our business community,” said Marsha Wurster, senior director of commercial enterprise. “Eli Lilly maintains a significant presence there and is growing in the area. That’s in addition to the NCAA committing to Cary, North Carolina for future championship games, and there is a growing tech industry connecting both the Raleigh-Durham area and Central Indiana.”

The Delta nonstop flight will give leisure and business travelers an additional option to reach the Raleigh area, the Outer Banks, and North Carolina’s Research Triangle – offering easy access to the Southeast’s rich cultural and natural attractions.

Delta offers nonstop flights currently from Indianapolis to Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Cancun, Detroit, New York, New York, Los Angeles, Orlando, Minneapolis, Raleigh and Salt Lake City.

Frontier has offered seasonal nonstop flights to Raleigh Durham since 2022.
