Ireland calling! Aer Lingus Announces New Non-Stop Pittsburgh to Dublin Service

Dec 11, 2025 | News

11 December 2025: Aer Lingus, the Irish flag carrier, is set to launch a new direct flight connecting Pittsburgh and Dublin, beginning May 2026.  Operating four times per week, this service will offer seamless onward connections from Dublin to major European cities including Paris, Rome, Geneva, Amsterdam, Manchester, and London Heathrow.

The airline has collaborated closely with partners in the region, including the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh International Airport and VisitPITTSBURGH, to successfully launch this new service, which will strengthen the cultural, sporting, and business connections between Ireland and Pennsylvania.

This service also builds on Aer Lingus’ deep connections to the city of Pittsburgh, where it serves as an Official Airline Partner of the legendary Pittsburgh Steelers. In September 2025, the airline flew the Steelers to Dublin for a historic sold-out game at Croke Park. Additionally, in 2027, the Pitt Panthers will fly to Dublin to face the Wisconsin Badgers in the Aer Lingus College Football Classic, taking place in Week Zero of the College Football calendar.

Commenting on the new transatlantic route, Pittsburgh International Airport CEO Christina Cassotis said: “The Pittsburgh region’s connections to Ireland run deep – both in today’s strong business market and ancestral ties – and this is a route that community leaders have been seeking. We are thrilled to have a partner in Aer Lingus that will serve Pittsburgh’s growing market for nonstop service to Ireland and beyond, and we look forward to welcoming even more European travelers to Pittsburgh.”

The Aer Lingus nonstop route also offers global businesses in Pittsburgh seamless connections to more than 30 destinations beyond Dublin, which can be reached easily via the airline’s Dublin Hub. Travelers benefit from Dublin Airport’s unique U.S. preclearance facility, which allows passengers bound for the United States to complete immigration and customs procedures before departure. Upon arrival stateside, they are treated as domestic passengers, ensuring a smooth and efficient travel experience.

Operating on an Airbus A321neo LR, the Aer Lingus nonstop flight offers dual class seats, including 16 business class seats with lie-flat seating. The airline is renowned for its warm Irish hospitality onboard, with all customers enjoying complimentary meals and refreshments, as well as an extensive inflight entertainment offering.

Susanne Carberry, Chief Customer Officer, Aer Lingus said: “Aer Lingus is particularly pleased to add Pittsburgh to our transatlantic network, having worked closely with partners in the region to make this a possibility.

“This route builds on our strong partnership with the Pittsburgh Steelers and further cements Aer Lingus’ position as a leading transatlantic carrier. Through its Dublin hub, Aer Lingus provides convenient connections that link Pittsburgh with over 30 destinations across Europe and the UK.”
