Washington, DC – Jacobsen|Daniels (J|D) is pleased to have Jennifer Dermody join the firm as Director of Planning. Serving as an airport planner for over 25 years, Jennifer has accumulated a wide variety of airport planning experience while working for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), consulting firms, a regional planning agency and an airport authority. At J|D, she will draw on all of these experiences to manage complex planning projects to improve the journey at airports.

“I am especially looking forward to bringing Jennifer on board, with her experience at FAA, consulting and running her own company,” said Matt Johnson, Senior Vice President of the Planning Division. “Jennifer’s airside/airspace experience, in particular, will strengthen our already established capabilities and allow us to expand the breadth of our services.

” Prior to joining J|D, Jennifer worked for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority as an airfield planning engineer where she handled all airfield and airspace related planning initiatives as well as all airport layout plan and capital improvement plan updates for the Authority’s two large hub airports, Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and Washington Dulles International Airport. She also established her own consulting firm, J. Dermody Consulting, LLC, where she provided a range of airport planning services and managed all aspects of the business. Jennifer’s eight years of FAA experience includes serving as Executive Team Leader and Planning Team Leader at the FAA Eastern Region Airports Division and as a planner at the FAA New York Airports District Office.

Jennifer also shares J|D’s mission of “Improving the Journey”, having enriched the aviation industry’s journey by serving as the Airports Subgroup industry lead on the Northeast Corridor NextGen Integrated Working Group. She is also a standing committee member on the Transportation Research Board Airfield and Airspace Capacity and Delay Committee and participates on the Airports Council International – North America Operations and Technical Affairs Committee.
