KALAMAZOO, MI — The Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport (AZO) is excited to host its annual Air Fair on Saturday, September 20, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at 5235 Portage Road. This free, family-friendly event will focus on aviation education and feature more than a dozen aircraft on display, including planes, helicopters, and even an F-16 cockpit for guests to explore.
Scouts will have the opportunity to earn their Aviation Merit Badge and all visitors will enjoy interactive activities such as Young Eagles flights, giving kids their very first flight experience, along with parachute drops, paint-the-plow, and the popular Wings and Wheels exhibit for up-close tours of aircraft. Other attractions include hands-on STEM demonstrations about aerodynamics and airplane maneuvering, face painting, bounce houses, food trucks, and free raffle ticket entry for a chance to win exciting prizesthroughout the event.
“This event brings aviation to life for our community,” said Craig Williams, Airport Director. “From kids taking their first flight to families exploring the latest aircraft from WMU’s College of Aviation, Air Fair is about sparking curiosity and making aviation accessible to everyone.”
With free parking, 19 sponsors supporting the event, and an abundance of activities, the Air Fair promises a day full of excitement, education, and fun for all ages.
