SANTA ANA, CA – The County of Orange has named Komal Kumar as Assistant Airport Director. In this position, she will be responsible for operations, administration, planning, and development activities at John Wayne Airport, owned and operated by the County of Orange. Ms. Kumar has been serving as the interim Assistant Airport Director and officially began her new role on March 8, 2024.

Ms. Kumar has a strong foundation in airport management and extensive leadership experience. She has worked for John Wayne Airport for eight years, holding the titles of Deputy Airport Director, Finance Administration; Finance and Fiscal Administrative Manager; and Budget Manager. She has also worked for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

Ms. Kumar received a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of California.
