Spirit marks milestone with nonstop service to Pensacola

LOUISVILLE, KY (March 11, 2021) – Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport (SDF) celebrates another milestone with a record-high 35 nonstop destinations. This comes as Spirit Airlines announced they will offer nonstop, seasonal service to Pensacola International Airport (PNS) from Louisville.

“Today is a day to celebrate that we now offer more nonstop flights from SDF than ever before,” said Dan Mann, Executive Director of the Louisville Regional Airport Authority. “Given the climate of air service right now, this is a very positive sign for us as we continue to grow new service. This speaks to the strength of our market and community support.”

Seasonal service to Pensacola is scheduled to begin Thursday, June 10 and will be offered three times weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. The flight will be available during the summer travel season aboard Spirit’s Airbus Fit Fleet using an Airbus A320 with 180-seats.

“Spirit Airlines has not yet had their first flight from Louisville, and the fact they are already expanding is great news,” added Mann. “This is simply further proof they are a terrific addition to SDF as we have a record setting number of nonstops with the addition of Pensacola.”

Pensacola is the fifth city Spirit serves from Louisville following their recent announcement they will launch daily service on Thursday, May 27 to Fort Lauderdale (FLL), Orlando (MCO), Las Vegas (LAS) and Los Angeles (LAX).
