Binghamton, New York – February 17, 2026 – McFarland-Johnson, Inc. (MJ), a 100% employee-owned planning, engineering, technology, environmental, and construction services firm, is pleased to announce the strategic expansion of its multidisciplinary services through the launch of an in-house landscape architecture practice. Jason Dunn, RLA, joins MJ as Senior Landscape Architect to lead this new practice.

Dunn brings a distinctive perspective shaped by his multidisciplinary background and comprehensive understanding of both engineering and planning. With more than two decades of professional consulting experience, he has distinguished himself by leading transformative project design and development initiatives at boutique firms and by serving as a trusted planning consultant for variance applications. Renowned for synthesizing aesthetics and practicality, his portfolio spans innovative solutions across shopping centers, school campuses, residential subdivisions, commercial site plans, farmland and green acre surveys, land use planning, site analysis, and variance reports.

“I am excited to join the MJ team and help achieve their design goals. My vision is to create spaces that flow naturally, balance features harmoniously, and make people feel both safe and uplifted by their surroundings,” said Dunn. “Landscape architecture goes beyond aesthetics — it is about understanding how people interact with their environment and purposely shaping space that enriches daily life. I look forward to collaborating with clients and colleagues to deliver sustainable, innovative solutions that respect both the natural environment and the community’s needs. Ultimately, my goal is to ensure every project leaves a lasting positive impact on those who experience it.”

McFarland Johnson now offers a full spectrum of Landscape Architecture services aimed at creating vibrant, functional, and sustainable spaces that enrich communities. Services include planting design, hardscape and lighting solutions, site layout, park and plaza design, streetscape and traffic calming, athletic facilities, residential amenities, trail systems, site analysis with nature preservation, erosion control, visual buffering, campus planning, wetlands restoration, impact studies, code compliance, and land use planning.
