New Twice-Weekly Service on Breeze Airways Starting May 2026 Offers Key Route to North Carolina Hub, Connecting to Over 30 Destinations
New Service Cements Commitment from Breeze Airways at New York Stewart, Building on Existing Routes to/from Charleston, S.C.; Orlando, Fla.; and Fort Myers, Fla.
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey today announced a further expansion of service at New York Stewart International Airport (SWF). Beginning May 6, 2026, Breeze Airways will offer twice-weekly, year-round service between SWF and Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) in North Carolina. Tickets are available via Breeze Airways’ website.
Access to Breeze’s RDU service will give New York Stewart passengers the option of travel to more than 30 onward destinations across the country. The airline’s BreezeThru service will also allow passengers traveling from SWF to remain on the aircraft at RDU for continuing service to Tampa International Airport (TPA), without the need to re-board or re-check luggage.
“This new Breeze service is a meaningful expansion for New York Stewart, adding a strong nonstop link to a growing hub while building on the airport’s core strengths,” said Port Authority Chairman Kevin O’Toole. “New York Stewart offers travelers an efficient, low-stress air travel experience with convenient access and a seamless trip from curb to gate. This new route puts even more destinations and economic opportunities within reach for the Hudson Valley and the broader region.”
“Our goal at New York Stewart is to pair the airport’s efficient design with smart, well-targeted new connections,” said Port Authority Executive Director Rick Cotton. “The new Raleigh-Durham route strengthens New York Stewart’s network, opening the door to dozens of onward destinations through Breeze and reinforcing our commitment to making our airport a competitive, convenient alternative for travelers across the region.”
The new SWF–RDU service will operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays, with arrival from RDU scheduled for 11:25 a.m. and departure from SWF scheduled for 12:05 p.m.
The Raleigh-Durham region is one of the fastest-growing areas in the country and shares strong business ties with the Hudson Valley and greater New York region, particularly in the healthcare, pharmaceutical, financial, and technology sectors.
The new Raleigh-Durham service builds on Breeze Airways’ growing presence at New York Stewart. The airline currently operates year-round service to Charleston, S.C., and Orlando, Fla., as well as seasonal service to other destinations.
At SWF, Allegiant Air also offers year-round service to Fort Lauderdale, Orlando-Sanford, Punta Gorda, and St. Petersburg, Fla., as well as Myrtle Beach, S.C.
New York Stewart is an economical, convenient, and family-friendly alternative to the region’s larger airports, offering minimal wait times at security, seamless border and customs processing, and straightforward baggage claim.
