New visitor pass allows nontravelers to enjoy shopping, dining, and art at Sunport
ALBUQUERQUE — The Albuquerque International Sunport is opening its doors like never before with the launch of the ABQ FlySide Pass: a free digital option that allows nontravelers to explore the terminal beyond security, no boarding pass required. Starting Tuesday, November 25 at 10:00 a.m., friends, families, and aviation enthusiasts 18 years of age or older* can go through security to:
- Accompany or meet travelers at the gate.
- Dine, shop and experience the Sunport’s reimagined spaces, featuring locally made New Mexican products, favorite dishes, and restaurants alongside national brands.
- Explore the Sunport’s art collection and historical displays, and enjoy live music by local performers.
“The Sunport is Albuquerque’s front door, showcasing our culture, creativity, and cuisine,” said Mayor Keller. “The FlySide Pass opens that experience to everyone while supporting small businesses and celebrating our beautifully renovated Sunport.”

Beginning December 2025, visitors will have even more reasons to explore. The Sunport is introducing Support Local Sunport Business Saturdays, a new traveler-appreciation holiday special. Every Saturday throughout the month, all Sunport concession merchants will offer 10% off purchases for both travelers and FlySide Pass visitors. The seasonal promotion celebrates local businesses and invites the broader community to experience the revitalized terminal in a festive, affordable way.
“Our airport isn’t just about departures and arrivals — it’s about the experience,” said Aviation Acting Director Manny Manriquez. “The FlySide Pass invites the community to the Sunport, whether you’re joining family for a flight, enjoying a date night, or simply watching planes take off and land on our airfield.”
Visitors can request a FlySide Pass up to seven days in advance, with same-day approvals often provided within minutes. On the day of their visit, pass holders go through the TSA security checkpoint just like ticketed passengers. The FlySide Pass is free, digital, and easy to use. Visitors apply online, get quick TSA approval, and explore the city’s reimagined Sunport. Hours of operation are seven days a week starting at 4:00 a.m.
